What good websites are there about the cruel treatment of cattle, pigs, chicken, and fish?

I'm working on becoming a vegetarian (not now but in a while). I have cut out fish, pork, and meat and am only eating chicken. I'm sure that if I read about the cruel methods used on all these animals, then I'd have a better chance of becoming a real vegetarian. Are there any informative sites on animal cruelty that I should know about?

I hate to tell you, but chickens are by far the worst treated animals on the planet, and factory farming conditions are atrocious. Chickens are stacked in cages 10 cages high-think about whats happening to the chicken on the bottom cage with the runoff of feces and urine from the upper cages-those chickens are so diseased at slaughter that the meat ends up in canned goods because its not fit to sell as fresh chicken. Go to http://factoryfarming.org or http://meetyourmeat.com for more info. It should help you make the transition. Worked for me!

Yes! Check out Compassion Over Killing (www.cok.net). They have features on the cruel treatment of chickens raised for their flesh and for their eggs.

I did a little poking around and came up with this:

http://www.vivausa.org/campaigns/chickens/index.html

http://www.upc-online.org/

UPC (United Poultry Concerns) is focused on chickens, turkeys, ducks, and geese.

There are tons of websites and groups out there that will show you just how cruelly chickens are treated.

Good luck!

I seriously recommend you look at some of these websites. The ones that prove the most cruelty to animals are listed first. Hope I helped. :)

AND if you STILL have trouble becoming vegetarian after that, read the book Skinny B*tch by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin. It made me cry so much for those animals and has really helped me become vegetarian along with looking at all of these sites.
