Position Objective
As a Consultant, you will be responsible for interacting with clients and prospective customers, helping them understand how Cargill Animal Nutrition can provide solutions for them and improve their profitability. This position will have an emphasis with cattle feeders and cow/calf operators in Northern Central/Northeast Nebraska and Southern South Dakota. Your role will be to grow Cargill’s beef nutrition & consulting business through key dealerships in this geography as well as manage direct relationships with feeders in certain areas.
Summary
As a consultant you will:

Establish and build effective customer relationships
Work with customers to enhance the profitability of their business
Work closely with team members to solve complex customer issues
Provide communication between the customer and business management team
Build a network with key influencers such as lenders and universities in the area

Provide critical input to the business management team

As you demonstrate your knowledge of the business, you may have additional opportunities to lead projects and or manage other sales consultants in the market place. Required:

3 years of sales experience connected with the beef industry

Cargill Meat Solutions has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Production Planner . This position is responsible for the forecasting, planning and scheduling of finished goods products for product lines.

Principle Accountabilities:

* Development of production plans & schedules that meet Sales, capacity, transportation, & warehouse/distribution requirements * Develops immediate and long-term production plans, working closely with Account Manager and Production personnel * Plans inventory control levels that satisfy the customer service levels, while minimizing production, transportation, and warehousing costs * Reviews weekly sales, raw material, and finished good inventory data and advises sales & distribution personnel of unexpected by-products or inventory balances

Responsibilities & Duties:

* 50% – Leads Operations & Distribution requirements planning to establish, monitor, and communicate short & long-term capacity constraints. Works closely & directly with Operations team to convey & solve issues. Is a key team member in day-to-day & week-to-week management decisions. * 20% – Manages Production Scheduler & develop daily scheduling processes via communication interaction * 15% – Compiles & leads actions to deliver daily service summary reports & update customer/team scorecards * 15% – Reviews & communicates daily inventory levels to ensure service to the customer while minimizing carrying costs to convey & solve issues

Qualifications

* Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Ag, Meat Science or related field * 4-6 years of meat industry experience * Previous experience in supply-chain, plant operations, sales or key account management is important * In-depth knowledge of plant customer base & product requirements * General knowledge of plant operations parameters and key facility constraints * Current knowledge & ability within XLGO/Prism operating systems & plant floor systems * Analytical skills and attention to detail are key characteristics needed for this position

Overview: Supervises the processing of cattle as they arrive at the feedlot to ensure that they are properly inspected, sorted, vaccinated and/or branded in a timely manner that minimizes stress to the animal. Supervises and schedules cowboy and vet crews to accomplish daily activities of pen checking, sorting, moving, and doctoring as required to maintain good herd health. Maintains and updates all cattle transactions, including processing, vaccinations, movements and deaths, through a feedlot management software system, Cattle Expert. Monitors cattle on a daily basis, removing sick and injured cattle to the feedlot hospital for treatment in order to protect the herd from the spread of disease. Inspects cattle for evidence of disease or injury and treats animal according to experience or following instructions of Staff Veterinarian.

Skill / Experience Requirements: Knowledgeable in the areas of animal health and cattle conditions generally acquired with a minimum of ten or more years related experience and/or training in a large feedlot or range environment. Responsible for crew of up to 20; average cattle headcount of 40,000.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED). – Five plus years related experience and/or training. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for meeting the minimum requirement.

Location Information: Overlooks the Columbia River in Washington’s burgeoning Tri-City area. A former railway town and agricultural hub for Southeast Washington, Pasco still possesses some evidence of its early agricultural roots. An increasing number of wine producers are gravitating to the Pasco area, where warm, dry weather and mild winters provide the ideal climate for Washington’s expanding wine industry. Not surprising, wine festivals are becoming a Tri-City tradition and are an easy stop for regional wine tours.
