Last Updated: Wednesday 7th of July 2010 01:01:00 AM -0600MDTA central Queensland cattle baron has called for the beef industry to hold a crisis forum.
Graham Acton, from Paradise Lagoons at Gracemere outside Rockhampton, says if action isn't taken to increase cattle prices, many graziers will be forced out of business.
He says a meeting should also include proposals to reduce production costs.
"We're not ones to sit on our hands when things are bloody going pear-shaped and do nothing," he says.
"I think that is what we need to do in this industry, somebody needs to take a very strong look at the direction in which it's going and focus on trying to improve it."
